We are a working group on the Practice of Ethics for Research in Linguistics (PERL), at the University of Western Ontario. Our goal is to create a database of ethics protocols so that researchers in all branches of linguistics can have access to various types of research protocols likely to be accepted by a Research Ethics Board (REB).
To accomplish this, we are gathering protocols from researchers in linguistics across Canada that have received approval from an REB. Any revisions required or other comments are also helpful. The protocols we received constitute an on-line electronic resource (westernlingustics.uwo.ca/PERL/) already available for all researchers in order to help in the circulation of information about existing successful practices and to obtain approval from an REB.
We would like to thank all our colleagues who have contributed to the development of our project by sending us their ethics protocols.
Please send your approved protocols (preferably, with comments and revisions) in Word or PDF format, to the address firstname.lastname@example.org, so that we can enrich our database with new protocols. Sending these documents will constitute your authorization to make them available to the scientific community via the Internet.
Thank you in advance for your collaboration. If you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to contact us.
